Focus Dashcam OrganizerGetting Started

Focus Window
  • 1
Toggle view. This toggles between the Calendar (2) and the List Only view. The List Only view contains all your videos in a (potentially long) list.
  • 2
Calendar. The Calendar view shows each of your events as a dot underneath the date on the calendar (for up to four events). Five or more events are shown as a solid line. Dots are red when a given event is flagged (see 6) below. Clicking a date in the calendar shows you a listing of events in the List view (4) for that date. You can navigate months by using the left and right arrows in the top right of the calendar, or by clicking the "today" button to return to the current date. When you open up Focus, the default is to select the last date when an event occurred.
  • 3
Video filter. Any of the three buttons can be toggled to show videos of a certain type: Sentry Clips, Saved Clips, or Recent Clips.
  • 4
List view. The list view shows the date of a given recording, as well as the type of video and the location it occurred (if this information is available). The list of events can be sorted by either event date or by event location by using the "Sort By" dropdown menu in the list view header.
  • 5
Map view. The map view displays a map with an annotated pin showing the location on the map where the selected Sentry event took place. The pin's title shows the nearest city, and it's subtitle shows the reason for the Sentry mode activation.
  • 6
Video actions. From left to right, the buttons are:
    • Flag video. Flags the selected video so it's easy to find both in the Calendar and the List.
    • Locate in Finder. Opens a Finder window with the directory of the selected video.
    • Show event on map. Opens a popup window containing a map (5) showing where the selected Sentry event took place.
    • Export video. Exports the selected video, or a portion of a video if selection(s) are made in the video scrubber (12). Read more about the export process here.
    • Transcode video. Transcodes the selected video to another format. For more information, see the documentation on transcoding.
    • Delete video. Deletes the selected video.
  • 7
Jump to Sentry event button. Clicking this button jumps the current playing position forward to where Sentry mode was activated. You can also press the command-J key combination if you prefer to use the keyboard.
  • 8
Video rate. The video rate control allows you to slow down or speed up the video as it's playing (from 0x to 10x). You can also use the number keys on the keyboard to change the video playback speed.
  • 9
Sentry event. The red dot on the scrubber shows where in the timeline Sentry mode was activated.
  • 10
Always show playback controls. Toggles between always showing the playback controls and showing them only when the mouse is hovering over the playback window.
  • 11
Video Viewer. The video viewer shows the current selection from the List view (4). By default, it shows all four cameras (if available). Clicking on a camera view causes the clicked camera view to show up in the video scrubber, while double clicking on a camera view zooms the camera. Double clicking a zoomed camera view returns you to the original four camera view.
  • 12
Video scrubber. The video scrubber displays thumbnails of the video through time. You can hover over the scrubber with your mouse to jump to different locations of the video quickly. You can also select and deselect parts of the video for exporting small clips. See the help link for the video scrubber for details on how to use the scrubber to export clips.
